Cesar Manrique

So I have just arrived home from Lanzarote....why people call it 'Lanzagrotty', I just don't know, the island is stunning! This is partly due to the artist Cesar Manrique who fought for all the buildings to be no higher than the tallest palm tree, and that all the houses should be the same colour (except for the painted wood, which varies depending on location) Examples of his work can be seen throughout the island, and his large scale mobile sculptures appear on many of the roundabouts.
