Vanessa Cooper

Yesterday I picked up a lovely greetings card and saw that it was an image by Vanessa Cooper. This led me to the rest of her work which is just stunning. Vanessa studied at Portsmouth University and first exhibited in 1987. She works principally in oils, and more examples of her work can be found here.... http://www.vanessa-cooper.co.uk/gallery.html

Sylvanian Families

I had forgotten how much I loved Sylvanian Families. I recently bought some as a gift for a 4 year old, and it made me think I should dig mine out of my cupboards from when I was younger. They are just great! http://www.sylvanianfamilies.com/

Peter Doig

I have been a huge fan of Peter Doig ever since I saw his work at the Tate Gallery in 2008. The enormous large scale paintings are completely stunning, and these tiny pictures just don't do it justice. Born in Scotland in 1959, Doig grew up in Canada, but then returned to the U.K to study and work in London for 23 years. In 2002 he moved with his family to Trinidad, in the Caribbean where he currently lives and works. http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/artists/peter_doig.htm
