Stunning Adverts

I discovered this really interesting 'making of' video for the Canon PIXMA printer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFcQI68njaQ

The above advert then reminded me of the Sony Bravia bouncing balls advert from 2006, which I absolutely loved.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XmUxf35AVk

Cesar Manrique

So I have just arrived home from Lanzarote....why people call it 'Lanzagrotty', I just don't know, the island is stunning! This is partly due to the artist Cesar Manrique who fought for all the buildings to be no higher than the tallest palm tree, and that all the houses should be the same colour (except for the painted wood, which varies depending on location) Examples of his work can be seen throughout the island, and his large scale mobile sculptures appear on many of the roundabouts.

Ken Done

I have just been staying in Cornwall, and the holiday house we were in had the most amazing Ken Done koala table mats and coasters. I grew up with Ken Done prints all over my clothes and his products all round my house due to my parents having lived in Sydney. However, I hadn't seen his work for ages, and it reminded me how great it is. http://www.kendone.com/default.asp

Children's Books

I was babysitting my boyfriend's nephew last night, and had a lovely time reading some amazing children's books. The illustrations below are some of my favourites from Rosie's Walk, Little Owl Lost, Lost and Found and Where the Wild Things Are.
